God loves people.

He loves you and He loves everyone.  True Christians have been given that type of love for others because God has moved into their hearts and lives His life through them.

Christians want to help and love their neighbors, that's what this is all about.

Unfortunately many in the Church have fallen asleep and even worse, many have fallen in love with the pleasures of this world even more than they love God.  The way we spend our time demonstrates where our allegiance and devotion lies.

God warned us in the Bible that in the last days people would be "lovers of pleasure" rather than "lovers of God".  This indictment isn't just talking about people that make no claim to God, this was written about people "in the church" because the paragraph goes on to say "They have a form of godliness, but deny its power" (2 Timothy 3:1-5).

What kind of pleasure are those in the church loving?

Unfortunately, you name it and it's in the church.  It all stems from plain old selfishness and manifests itself in many ways.  But we are all going to be held accountable for our actions whether we claim to be Christian or not.

God is opening the eyes of His children to see their sin and selfishness and He has stirred many hearts to action.

Where do you spend your spare time?  TV and movies? Watching or playing sports?  Shopping, video games, hidden sins?

Life is short.  The days are perilous in many ways.  People are hurting and even perishing all around us.  It is time for us all to wake up, deny our selfish desires and start making good use of our time.

How am I supposed to be a "lover of God" instead of pleasure?
