Service Teams-
A cup of water in His name....
Each neighborhood has a "Service Team volunteers &
needs" forum at www.LYNCN.net
which enables us to match neighborhood needs to the
people that want to help others.
S-Team volunteers subscribe to the forum topic that includes the types of
needs they want to help with. An email is sent to the volunteer when a need is
posted to that topic. This allows neighbors to demonstrate the love of Christ in a practical way.
The S-Teams' loving service also strikes an
interest in the other neighbors who are approached by a V-Team member. Even if they have no physical
needs themselves they can't help but wonder what has gotten into these
people? This unusual demonstration of love and concern greatly
increases the odds of the neighbor reading or watching the material given and/or going to
the web site. Since the material contains
the good news of God's love shown to us through the work of Christ you are
loving your neighbor in two ways. Even if all you do is take out someone's
trash, you are helping to share the good news as well as serving your neighbor in
a practical way!

Believers with a passion in the following
areas form service teams on a neighborhood level
STREETS–
"V-Teams" are
Visitation teams that knock on
doors with an offer of practical assistance from the body of Christ and other
neighbors who want to help. They also invite the neighbors to join the LYNC Network,
attend Church. If they are too busy they leave a free CD or DVD.
The
practical help is offered as it is available in their area (as S-Teams volunteer
for each type of service). The types of needs
are listed below, but not limited to this list.
S-Team service offerings:
- HANDS-
LYNC Network volunteers help those in financial hardship, Senior Citizens or
those with disabilities or illnesses with yard work, house work, home
repairs, car repairs; Any vital need that has become difficult or impossible
for you, the hands of Jesus Christ through his church are here to help.
- HAND UP- Help for
the homeless includes distribution of meal donation boxes at restaurants.
Job application assistance and rides to work.
- EARS-
If life’s got you down and you need someone to talk to, there are good
neighbors around you with a compassionate ear that can help you sort things
out. They aren’t paid professionals, they do it because they care and God
cares about you.
- THREADS & BREAD–
We all need some help now and then. LYNC Network volunteers with a
heart to serve want to help with food and clothing when things are tight.
We also encourage all neighborhood LYNC Network members to build
relationships with existing food and clothing ministries.
- BREAD OF LIFE–
Jesus said your spirit needs Him, like your body needs food, that’s pretty
important! You’re invited to come to church and find out why, but if
you’d prefer, there are neighbors that would be glad to come to your home
and talk about what it really means to be a “Christian”.
- Audio/VIDEO CHURCH–
Some Churches videotape the service regularly for those who can’t get to
church. Let us know if you’d like a CD, DVD or VHS tape of the service
brought to your home. If you don’t have a DVD player, some LYNC
Network members have players to loan you, and they can set it up for you.
- PRAYER–
God cares and hears our cries. He says 2 or 3 people agreeing on something
get an answer. If you have a need you’d like us to agree with you about, let
us know.
- WHEELS-
Free rides and a friendly face are available for disabled and elderly who
cannot drive and need a ride to take care of life’s business.
- GOD’S CREW-
Gang activity is growing in all types of neighborhoods. Whether it’s
power and drug money or a desire for a sense of belonging that drives them,
young people are being enticed to join these counterfeit “families”.
If that’s you or someone you know, and you want straight answers to help you
find what you’re looking for, there are people that care about you that have
“been there and done that”. They found it really was a “dead end”
life. So they traded their life of violence and lies and found that
God’s family is the real deal. Call us and we’ll hook you up with
someone who can talk your language and help you find the truth you seek.
New Areas
New geographic areas will start with a V-Team, which will
then be the starting point of the relationships that will grow into other
service teams in that area. If there is no V-Team, then the S-Teams will
not know who needs the help.
