How do you want to make an impact?

For the vast majority of us, our daily physical needs are met, especially if we compare our standard of living with the rest of the world. There are exceptions of course.  Looking for those physical needs behind every door is not the purpose of the LYNC Network, though if we stumble across them while talking to our neighbors we all should do what we can to help.

As a LYNC Network member we are simply offering our friendship and hospitality to our neighbors, one at a time.  As the LYNC coordinators speak to their neighbors, the idea is to allow God's love to open our hearts and truly care for our neighbor, even as we care for ourselves.

If we want to make the greatest impact on this world for good, it behooves us to carefully weigh how we serve others with our limited spare time.  The way the LYNC Network connects volunteers and needs, it gives the individual the ability to choose what types of needs they want to serve and they can personally weigh each situation and determine if they want to help, and to what extent they want to help.  Sometimes networks "cross pollinate" and go across town to an under-served neighborhood.  Extending the radius around your neighborhood will likely find more pressing needs that can be helped, but it's all up to you; how you want to love your neighbor.

More frequently than "empty bellies", we run into hurting and lonely hearts. There are people in relational and moral crises all around us.  These situations need our love and concern as well and restoring health to these areas is just as critical to our survival as individuals and as a society as having adequate food and water!

Though the LYNC Network includes helping neighbors' physical needs, we believe that helping people to "be whole" spiritually effects every area of our lives and ultimately makes the biggest impact for good.

Choose your response:

I'm not so sure that spiritual things are so important, but I'd like to talk about it

I'd agree that spiritual things are important.  I'd like to continue the virtual conversation about spiritual needs, truth and "knowing God"

I don't know about a spirit realm or life after death, I am just trying to be myself and be real

I believe there are issues of justice that are more important

Right now I'd rather learn about serving neighbor's physical needs through the LYNC Network: back to the home page

Some people have had bad experiences with "Christians" and may be a little bothered by the spiritual aspect of the LYNC Network, if that's you we apologize and are glad to address your concerns:

Is the LYNC Network about helping neighbors or Bible thumping?

I've been turned off by the hypocrisy I've seen
